Eurogamer reviews Braid: 10/10

Eurogamer has reviewed Braid and given it a score of 10/10, saying:

Braid has filled my head with so many ideas, so many opinions, so many emotions that wrestling them all into a coherent critique is like trying to strangle a swan made of jelly.

And then also:

Braid is beautiful, entertaining and inspiring. It stretches both intellect and emotion, and these elements dovetail beautifully rather than chafing against each other. Still wondering if games can be art? Here’s your answer.

Thanks to Malibu for the heads-up.

I don’t want to pimp myself too much, but I threw a review of Braid up after diving in to it. It’s super fun, and its brilliance is apparent, but I think that a lot of people will be too easily frustrated with the insanely smart (but too damn tough for us stupids!) puzzles. The old-school gameplay was something I expected to hate (and was, back when I first played the game) but has since become something that’s almost poignant about it… “Going back in time” is a huge element, and it’s a metaphor for itself.

I loved it. Thanks a bunch guys, I’ll be buying this one for sure.

And after completing World 2, here’s my review too: The best spended 15 Euros in a long time. Jonathan congratulations, and thanks. You’re indeed very talented.
