Gameclub started well but got progressively worse. Adding the two guest speakers may have been a mistake as they just took the conversation the wrong way. The first gc manages to begin discussing the game in an intelligent way though.

Yeah, I understand signal to noise, but at the same time I mostly saw people in the Kotaku comments complaining about having to *buy* a game just to participate which doesn't give me much hope. I was late coming to the Insert Credit party, but my understanding was some good stuff went down in the early Game Club threads.

Apparently so. A search turns up a bunch of stuff:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all&q=+%22game+club%22+site%3Aselectbutton.net&btnG=Search

However, it seems fairly disorganized; just random stuff posted in forum threads, along with every other thing, so the signal-to-noise ratio is pretty low... looking back through these threads, to find interesting things, is hard going.

So I would hope the Kotaku version, with its more-centralized structure, does a better job of that.
